UN Women 2022 Asia-Pacific WEPs Award for Thailand
Advanta Thailand known as PAC Thai is the only seed company recognized by the UN Women 2022 Asia-Pacific WEPs Awards 2022 in Thailand. The recognition for Advanta is the honourable mention in the “Community Engagement and Partnerships category.”
The UN Women 2022 Asia-Pacific WEPs Awards aims to encourage and recognize individuals and businesses' efforts that promote gender-inclusive business cultures and the achievement of gender equality in Asia-Pacific, guided by the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
Advanta program was developed to empower women and rural schools communities by teaching them how to grow vegetables in their school backyard which often is good unused land. We teach the local community how to grow vegetables and monitor the crops from sawing to harvest time to ensure good yield. The vegetables are used for the children free meals in school and the extra crop is used for buying school supplies. The program is managed in four schools with support of two women associations. This program grows fast in popularity by giving children great education how to grow food, extra nutrition and additional income and food for the community.
